RENO – For
recreation, a number of excellent golf courses can be found
in and around the town. Hiking, hunting and fishing are
available for those of adventurous spirit. Culturally,
a number of art and history museums and the Animal Ark
wildlife park are in town. And Reno is a city that likes
to party! The most famous of Reno’s events is Hot
August Nights, an annual event that draws more than 5,000
classic hot rods from the 50’s and 60’s, plus
big name bands, and X-cart races. It’s a major happening.
Reno is also host to many fine restaurants, casinos, hotels,
shopping and all the services of a modern city. |

TAHOE – Probably
most people’s first thought when they think of Tahoe
is the skiing and snow boarding at Heavenly Valley, and
of course with over 20 miles of remarkable ski-able terrain,
that’s understandable. There is a lot more to do
in the basin, however, because Tahoe is a year-round playground,
with beaches, water sports, and many other attractions
including boat tours of the lake to places such as the
beautiful Emerald Bay where Vikingsholm, a grand castle
of a home built in 1929, serves as an excellent example
of Scandinavian architecture. The Gondola at Heavenly is
a fun tram ride, and a good way to view some of the pristine
areas of the Sierras. The Tallac Historic Site offers tours
of four summer homes and gardens of wealthy gilded-age
families. Hot air balloon rides over the lake, biking tours
into the mountains, horseback riding, top name entertainment
at the casinos, and exceptional dining and shopping are
all on tap

The
Reno/Tahoe
Mystique

Two to three million years ago, nature spoke, and great
geological shifts formed the Carson Range to the east of Reno, and
the Sierra Nevada on the west side of the city. Mountains towering
over 10,000 feet were pushed upward, and between them the Lake Tahoe
Basin was born.
The lake itself was formed during the Great Ice Age,
over a million years ago. Streams now flow into Lake Tahoe, one of
the world’s ten deepest at 1,645 feet, and it is only drained
by the Truckee River which flows northeast through Reno and on into
Nevada’s Pyramid Lake.
Thus, the stage was set for one of the most beautiful
and abundantly rich places on earth for those who are so fortunate
to live or visit the Reno/Tahoe area.
It’s almost easier to name things you can’t
find in the area than those you can. Both Reno and Tahoe are certainly
known for their great casino hotels and fine dining, but there truly
is so much more to do.
We looked at condominiums
all over the Reno area. Nothing compares to the “Resort”.
Location with shopping, hospitals, banks, restaurants,
post office all within walking distance. Also 10 minutes
from the Reno Airport. We love the mature landscaping the
pool, fitness center and very professional staff.
